While the US Army could rely on medium and heavy artillery, Airborne units were often out of contact with divisional support. The 75mm pack howitzer was an ideal solution to provide them with organic fire support, could be easily moved by hand and, after breaking it down into its component parts, could be dropped by parachute.

In games of Bolt Action it can be included in Artillery Platoons and is a Light Howitzer, that can be towed by most vehicles including Jeeps.
